MARCO FIORENTINI
Born in Rome (Italy), Marco Fiorentini began to study violin with his father Alfredo. In 1987 he held a violin degree at the Conservatory S. Cecilia of Rome with the maximum vote, cum laude and honorary mention. In the following years he studies in London at the Advanced Solo Course held by Yfrah Neaman at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he wins, in 1992, the A. Gibson Memorial Prize and the Philarmonia Prize, and, in 1993, the “Premier Prix” at the Concert Recital Diploma.
Finally, he completes his advanced studies at the Scuola di Musica of Fiesole with Norbert Brainin and in Israel with Maya Glezarova.
He has won several important Italian and International music prizes (1st National Competition of Musical Execution “F. Feroci”, 1st National Competition of Chamber Music “Il Miglio d'Oro”, 17th International Competition of Chamber Music of Trapani, 14th International Competition of Chamber Music “Città di Caltanissetta”, European Competition of Chamber Music “Città di Catanzaro”, 50th International Competition “G.B.Viotti”).
In his career Marco Fiorentini has performed as soloist or in chamber ensembles in the most important concert seasons in Italy (Amici della Musica di Firenze, Vicenza, Padova, Verona, Palermo, Asolo Musica-Veneto Musica di Asolo, il Teatro Nuovo “Giovanni da Udine”, l'Accademia Filarmonica di Rovereto, Società dei Concerti di Parma, Filarmonica Laudamo di Messina, Festival delle Nazioni di Città di Castello,O.R.L. di Roma, Società del Quartetto di Bergamo, Gog di Genova, Bologna Festival, Radio3 Rai, Orchestra di Roma e del Lazio, Orchestra Sinfonica di Lecce, RomaTre Orchestra, Roma Sinfonietta, Società Aquilana dei Concerti “B. Barattelli”, Teatro Verdi di Trieste, IUC di Roma, Società Filarmonica di Trento, Ass. Chamber Music di Trieste), and abroad (Germany, Austria, France, Spain, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Ukraine, Chile, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina…) always acclaimed by audience and critical reviews.
In 2000, he founded the Ars Trio di Roma, that debuted in the Winter season in Chigi “Micat in Vertice” and with whom in 2001 he won the Diploma d’Onore of the same Academy. The same year, the Ars Trio won 1st prize at the prestigious International Competition “Premio Trio di Trieste”, the last Italian ensemble to obtain this prize. Since then, the Ars Trio has taken part in the most important concert societies in Italy and abroad.
Marco Fiorentini teaches specialization masterclasses for violin and chamber music at the Accademia Internazionale Musicale in Rome. |
